Children’s literature has the power to inspire, educate, and engage readers in social action. Come learn the "Civic Action Formula" at this interactive workshop. We will discuss the connection between empathy and action, specific advocacy tools, pictures books (both fiction and nonfiction), and exercises that librarian educators can use to model and practice the empathy, confidence, and skills children need to to actively participate in their public life -- now and in the future.
